All That Crap Life is Made of

It's that time of year again.  The time when I realize I've neglected things to which I mean to pay more attention.  By which I mean, oh right, I started a blog awhile back and then never posted anything in it.

So here I am, updating.  I'm not going to pretend like I'm going to "try harder"--the truth is: I probably won't.

I've been back at school for about a month now, and I don't know if I can say I've gotten the swing of things.  It almost feels like freshman year all over again except this time I actually know my way around campus.  It's just, the dynamic of all of my classes is different.  I'm not taking any class that requires me to sit and take notes and then regurgitate that knowledge back out on a test. All of my homework consists of reading, writing and art projects.  It sounds amazing doesn't it?  Except it confuses the hell out of me.  I've found that I don't entirely know how to organize my time properly in order to get things done.  I feel like everything is left until the last minute, so here is something I need to improve upon.

It would seem that I neglect to do things I love in much of my life, but especially make excuses not to during the school year.  I have free time, however, it is poorly organized free time.  I've been trying to remind myself of the philosophy with which I decided to enter college:  grades are not the most important things, and, in the long run, aren't as important as what I actually take away from the experiences I have.  I need to get out and meet people, but still make time for school work.  After all, it was Mark Twain that said "never let your schooling interfere with your education."

On another note, ARTPRIZE! ArtPrize, the worlds largest art competition has once again graced the streets of my wonderful hometown.  I went downtown yesterday afternoon with a friend and saw so many wonderful works.  I need to finish registering to vote so I can participate.  I love it so much; it brings so many people to town and displays the thriving art community that the area supports.

Anyways, this is one of those moments I need to remember.  I had my fun at the Poetry Slam tonight and decided to take the time to update, but I should really make sure all of my homework is done.

Hopefully, more updates should follow.

I love to get your blog updates. I don't know how I missed the blue number 2 next to your rss feed for so long! I got out of the habit of looking to see if there was something new. Thanks for posting! Keep your updates coming!
